10 and 25 man Raiding
Paradigm Shift: Dungeons and Raids in Wrath of the Lich King
![]() |
Heroic dungeons were one of the most popular innovations of the previous expansion, so it’s no surprise Heroic mode will return in Wrath of the Lich King. Just as in The Burning Crusade, every five-person dungeon will have a Heroic variant that will present players with an added challenge and improved rewards.
One exciting new feature in Wrath of the Lich King is that all raid content will be available as either a 10- or 25-person dungeon with completely independent progression paths. Both the 10- and 25-person versions will be the same dungeon; the look, layout, and design of the dungeon will remain the same. However, each will be adjusted, tuned, and balanced for its respective player size.

I love the idea of tuning and balancing for respective raid size. I just wish they would continue to expand and develop this concept so that people who solo could do the same thing. For example, if the raid is properly a 25-man raid, then adjust it so that a 5-man team that successfully completes it 5 times would get the same drops that a 25-man raid gets doing it once. And tune and adjust it so that a solo-er could get those drops if he completes it 25 times.

They arent going to give the same rewards to 10 man teams as 25 man teams, the two loot list will be totally different.
To get the best gear you will need to raid 25 man.
The idea is based on making the CONTENT accessible by all not the gear.

That is a great idea on the tuning. I am an older guy and have a career. I can’t commit to being at my keyboard for 3 hours four nights a week so I can’t get into higher end content because all the guilds want at least 4 nights a week.
